Phase II – Conference
The conference phase of the V-WISE experience is a three-day training offered to cohorts of 200 women at locations across the country. Participants must attend Phase I, the online course, before attending Phase II.
The conference includes more than 20 distinct modules of training (representing over 40 hours of coursework!) designed for both new business owners and to support the needs of existing ventures. Topics addressed include business concepts, financing, guerrilla marketing, human resources, legal challenges, profit models, and more.
Participants are exposed to successful entrepreneurs, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and leaders in government.
In addition to classes and general sessions, participants are offered a variety of optional learning and networking opportunities to include:
A photographer will be on site to take professional headshots (there will be a nominal fee per shot, usually less than $20) for participants to use on websites, social media, business cards, and more!
Connect with speakers and instructors outside of class time in a small group/round table setting to ask questions that are particular to your business and interests.
Pitch your business in front of the group and our instructors will guide you through the strategy behind pitching your business to potential investors, lenders, motivators—you name it! Seats are limited and registration is required to pitch and/or observe.
Join award-winning vetrepreneurs, mentors, best-selling authors and speakers for a high octane, no-holds-barred Fearless Entrepreneur “Jam Session”. It’s your opportunity to brainstorm your business ideas, get your biggest biz questions answered and receive breakthrough “hot seat” coaching. Seats are limited and filled first come, first served (No pre-registration is necessary).
Business and military friendly resource providers from around the nation will be available to speak to participants about their targeted services. This is a great opportunity to network with key providers in a low key, intimate setting surrounded by fellow female veterans and military spouses.
Out of Pocket Costs
Participants are responsible for a one-time $75.00 registration fee, their transportation to and from the hotel, parking fees when applicable, and dinner on the second evening of the conference. Through the support of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), V-WISE is able to cover the cost of a private hotel room for each student for the two nights of the conference, all meals except for dinner on the second evening, and all educational materials (a value of approximately $2,000 per student!).
Continuing Education Units
Upon completion of this phase participants will receive 2.7 continuing education units (documentation required).
